Jannette Rubio-Garcia passed away on March 24, 2022, at her home in Lemon Grove, California, surrounded by her loved ones. Jannette kept her grace, strength, kindness, and beautiful smile throughout her battle with cancer. Jannette Rubio was born January 9, 1974, in Calexico, Ca. She graduated from Calexico High School in 1992, where she excelled in several sports and was a member of the ASB. She graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in Liberal Arts in 1996. Soon after, Jannette was hired by San Ysidro School District and began her teaching career. She spent over 25 years at Sunset Elementary School, where she taught kindergarten. Her caring and nurturing of the young students left an indelible mark on Sunset and the greater San Ysidro community. She enjoyed spending her free time with her family and friends, listening to music, attending concerts, watching sports, and cheering on her beloved Padres. Jannette is survived by her husband of 26 years, Charles Garcia; children Ethan Garcia and Alana Garcia of Lemon Grove, Ca; mother Norma Melendez and her husband Abel of Calexico, Ca; father Joaquin Rubio of Calexico, Ca; brother Jake Rubio and wife Amalia of San Diego, Ca; brother Sergio Rubio and wife Lupita of Imperial, Ca; in-laws Raymond and Charlie Luna of Sun City, Ca; brother in law JR Luna and wife Vanessa of Parkland, Fla; sister in law, Laura Bermudez and husband Frankie, of Winchester, Ca; and numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
