Life Story for Ernest Climenson Jr

Ernie Earl Climenson Jr passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Ernie was born in Winchester, MA on November 15th, 1943. In 1961, Ernie began his service with the US Navy and went on to serve 8 distinguished years. During his two tours of duty, he served on the USS Bexar attack transport in Subic Bay, the Philippines to support operations in the midst of the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged with two Good Conduct medals, Ernie went on to serve another 30 years as a government contractor for the Navy. He moved to San Diego in 1972 and later retired in 1999 as an Administrator Specialist.

When he wasn't busy serving his country, Ernie loved spending time with his family. In fact he'd plan his month-long RV journeys with his wife, Lisa, visiting the countryside as well as family/relatives who are dispersed across the Western seaboard. Ernie enjoyed fishing, golf, watching old WWII movies and building things with his woodworking shop built into his garage. He is also famously known for his fantastic barbecuing/cooking skills. No one ever left a barbecue hungry on his watch.

Along with his wife Lisa, Ernie is survived by his three daughters, Natalie, Christine, Elizabeth and his son Ernie. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Stephanie, Soo-Jin, and Kimiyo as well as 1 great-grandson, Takeo.

Ernie, you are gone from us physically but you will never leave us in spirit…
