A good man

I first met Senator Deddeh in 1968, when he hosted a fundraiser for Eugene McCarthy, the candidate whom I supported for president. As a Trekker, I was delighted that Leonard Nimoy was the guest of honor at this event. More than two decades later, I had the pleasure of working for Senator Deddeh as the attorney assigned to staff two of his Senate select committees. Because at that time the Capitol was known for its sexist atmosphere, I was delighted to work for a man with a very well-deserved reputation for treating women with respect and decency. Senator Deddeh was a good man whom I am honored to have known.
