Roger was born September 11, 1937 in Grand Rapids, MN. He passed away December 28, 2019 in Alpine, CA
He was 82 years old.
He came to California in 1941. He moved to La Mesa in 1946 where he remained a resident for 50 years.
Roger attended Rolondo Elementary School, La Mesa Elementary School, La Mesa Jr, High School and Helix High School.
He joined the Marine Corp in 1956, doing a tour of duty in Japan for two years. It was during that time that he became a truck driver. After discharge from the military he made a career in truck driving / dispatching for the next 60 years.
He had a passion for cars/hot rods most of his life. He and his buddies could always be found at the car shows throughout town.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, mother Mildred, daughters Sandra(Gary) Roundy, Susan Zimmerman and son, Ron(Nicole Swanson).
Granddaughters Kate Swanson and Kristin Roundy.
Grandsons Jack Swanson, Kyle Zimmerman, Corey Zimmerman and Dustin Roundy. Sisters Marilyn(Coy)Breshears, Sharon Chelette and Dianne(Robert) Collis.

A Military service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery January 8th at 10:30AM.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Alpine Community Center, 1830 Alpine Blvd on January 11, 2020 from 12 to 4 PM
