On Saturday, September 10, Muna M. Shabo, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away. Muna was raised in Baghdad Iraq where she eventually went to University. She earned the title of valedictorian, made the dean’s list, and was motivated to further her education and so she moved to the USA to attend John’s Hopkins University. During this time earned her Masters in Nursing and Public Health, and she met her husband and father to her two daughters, Christina and Tanya.

Muna was a socialite, academic, dancer and poet. She was known by many as extremely knowledgeable, and she loved to engage in debate and conversation. She was also known to be an extremely helpful figure to her friends and family. One thing you will hear all her friends say, is that they loved talking to her.

Unfortunately, after a two-year battle with cancer, Muna passed at the age of 74. She leaves behind a big group of devoted friends, her two daughters, and six siblings: Nawal, Nabeel, Imad, Hani, Wafa, and Fadia.
