Obituary

Minnie A. Roccazzella, 95, of San Diego, passed away on October 4, 2020, at Bonita View Hospice Home.

Minnie was born July 28, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Matteo and Catherine Asta.
As a young adult, Minnie was among the iconic women of World War II working to aid the war effort as an airplane riveter and at U.S. Rubber Company making tires for military tanks.

In 1949 she married Antonino (Nino) Roccazzella and soon after they settled in San Diego where she was a devoted wife and mother. They enjoyed 67 together. She loved gatherings with family and friends. She enjoyed walking, hosting dinners and weekly card parties. She loved to sing and could be heard singing the old standards of the 40’s and 50’s while she went about her daily activities. Later in life Minnie and Nino enjoyed their visits to Italy and Switzerland.

Minnie is survived by her two children, Waldo S. Roccazzella (Keturah) of Norwalk and Margaret C. Ingrande (Frank) of Jamul, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and her sister Nancy of Ohio.

Although saddened by her passing the family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband Nino, her granddaughter Chelsey, her parents, brothers and sisters and dearest friends. Minnie will be remembered as a loving, devoted, generous and stylish lady. She will be greatly missed.

Internment services will be held at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego.

Please donate to Sharp Hospice Care in lieu of sending flowers.
