Juan “Johnny” Rodriguez was born on October 3rd 1969 in Manteca Ca. Johnny was raised in the Imperial Valley, a graduate of Central High where he met the love of his life Claudia. In 1987 Johnny moved to San Diego to attend ITT technical school and graduated with an associate’s degree in electronics. He worked in a variety of companies servicing coin op copiers throughout the UC system and San Diego libraries. He then worked for CDG, a subsidiary of Boeing, where along with his brother, Abraham, became CADD Illustrators. He continued his career in the private sector designing of trolley lines and freeway upgrades with Parsons Brinkerhoff. His final job was for the City of San Diego in the planning and development department designing roadways, handicap ramps and sidewalk upgrades. In 1991 Johnny married his high school sweetheart Claudia and in 1997 they welcomed their son Eric. Johnny was happiest when he was spending time with family and friends, camping, riding desert toys, shooting, riding in lowriders, bbqing and especially talking smack. Just like his dad, Johnny was a loyal Raider fan. He loved spending time with son Eric so much that along with his wife, brothers and close friends coached youth football and little league for many years. Johnny made friends everywhere he went. People were drawn to his calm demeanor and sense of humor. The young boys he coached always remember him praising their effort, encouraging words and willingness to listen. Johnny departed this world far too soon on September 3rd 2021. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Claudia, his son Eric, mother Maria “Lucha” Rodriguez, grandmother Delia Pacheco, sister Johanna Rivera, brother Danny Rodriguez, Abraham (Yadira) Rodriguez, Richard (Raquel) Carillo, nieces Pricilla, Des, Ale and Soleil, nephews Vincent, Richard, Daniel, Jordan, Abraham and Cisco, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. an abundance of friends “the Pacusos”. Johnny was preceded in death by his father Daniel Rodriguez, grandpa Mariano Pacheco and niece Mallory Rodriguez. Johnny will always be remembered for his smile, kind heart and sense of humor.
