Jacqueline Thompson was born November 14, 1922 in Campo, CA to Ed T. Aiken and Stella Brown Aiken. She had an older brother, Bob, deceased, and younger sister Jerry Lou of Grants Pass, Oregon. She graduated from San Diego High School just before the start of WWII. She married Cliff Thompson and they moved to their forever home in Lakeside. When Cliff returned from the Navy, they began their family: Susan (David) of Oceanside, Steve of Lakeside, and Mark (Kelly) of Santee. They have 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was always active in the community including but not limited to PTA, San Vicente Landowners, and Lakeside Women’s Club. With the kids all in school, she went to work as a secretary at El Capitan High School and later, other Grossmont Unified Schools. During this time she was also one of the early founders of the Grossmont School District Credit Union. After retiring, she continued friendships with San Diego High alums as well as Grossmont work colleagues with monthly get-togethers. She passed away peacefully at home September 4, 2019 . Internment will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery where she will be reunited with Cliff.
