Born November 21, 1953 to Henry Charles Thompson Sr. and Mary Eleanor Townsend in
Auburn Illinois. Bill graduated from Auburn high school in 1971 and enlisted in the US Navy
where he served until 1977. Bill served overseas in Japan and Korea before he returned to US
soil and found a home in San Diego California. After he was honorably discharged from the
Navy he attended Southwestern College, and went on to become a carpenter. Bill fulfilled a 39
year career working in the construction industry in Southern California. He met Judy, The love of
his life, in October of 1990. They went on to get married on April 29th of 1994 and had their first
child (Jessica) in November of 1994. 2 years after the birth of their baby girl they had a
beautiful baby boy (Joshua) in September of 1996. Bill was the most loving, generous,
hardworking, caring husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He graced so many people with
his infectious joyfulness and held so many people close to his heart. Bill earned his angel wings
on August 11, 2020.
He is loved by so many as he was an active member in the community from the countless
weekends he spent on the soccer fields refereeing and coaching as well as the time he spent in
support for both of his children and their teammates on softball and baseball fields, wrestling
mats and show choir shows.
We remember him by his dedication to the country he loved so much, his integrity to always be
the better person, and the joy in his silly dance moves and wonderful personality. He will be
missed by many.
Bill was preceded in death by his two parents Henry Charles Thompson Sr. & Mary Eleanor
Thompson. He is survived by his wife Judy Thompson and their children Jessica and Joshua as
well as his brothers Robert Townsend, Henry Thompson Jr, David Thompson, John Paul
Thompson and sister Sally Thompson. He has joined his sisters Evelyn, Shirley, Pat, Betty, and
Helen to rest in God's beautiful paradise.
