Papa was awesome. He had a way of showing all of us a special type of love that was different for all of us. He couldn’t talk for my entire life but that never stopped him from showing me that he loved me or anyone else. He taught me how to treat people and care for people. He taught me that you don’t always have to speak to get the point across. The last time I saw Papa alive, he was bright and lively. I got to hold his hand and he didn’t let go for a long time. He was always stubborn even then, I wanted to help grandma get down the hall but grandpa insisted on helping her down the hall and I feel that, that was a perfect explanation of who he was, stubborn and loving. The love that him and Grandma shared is something that will always be in my memory. The love that he gave all of us grand babies, will always be in my heart. It was an honor having him as my great grandpa and Papa for as long as I did. - Eliza
