Doris Jean Darrington was born to the union of Minnie Lee Ogans & Clifford Levelle Jones on February 19th, 1946. She was the second eldest of nine children born and raised in San Francisco, California along with her 8 siblings. She married the love of her life Jettie Darrington, May 23rd, 1975, (47 Years) of marriage and to this union 3 children were born and raised. Alvina, Diallo, Dnetra. Out of her children's unions, her grandchildren are as follows: Davon Jones, Deknesha Erving, Damarius Johnson, Delina Darrington, Diallo Darrington Jr.

Doris was raised in a Christian God fearing Family & Home. She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior, and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of the Rev. Ruth Johnson Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church located at 6270 Third Street in San Francisco, Ca, where she served faithfully in regular Attendance, Sunday School, Church Worship Services, Baptist Training Union, and other activities. She sung in a very special singing group at her Church called the Evergreen Baptist Church Specials. Yes they were special, and could sang!! One of our fondest memories of one particular song that she led was, You know I Promised The Lord That I Would Hold Out Until He Meets Me in Galilee. Praise God she held out, and the Lord has met her!! Well done my good and faithful servant!! Over the years the entire family successfully relocated to San Diego, California.

Doris Jean attended School K- 12 within the San Francisco Unified School District and successfully graduated!! She attended Community Colleges and was well known for her outstanding typing skills! Doris had many outstanding & beautiful characteristics. Her witty, funny, and very, very, straightforward personality kept us on our toes all the time. She was and is the spitting image of Minnie Lee Ogans, her mother and was always referred to as her twin. She held several occupations within the San Francisco and San Diego area and she excelled at them all. Some of her favorite past times included, first and foremost spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, watching her soap operas, dancing, music, shopping, and eating as she loved to eat and cook. She was an excellent cook herself!! (famous for her tacos).

She leaves to mourn: Jettie Darrington, (Husband), Alvina Hill, Daughter, (Sam Hill) Diallo Darrington (Son), Dnetra Erving (Daughter), (James Erving). Her grandchildren, Davon Jones, Deknesha Erving, Damarius Johnson, Delina Darrington, Diallo Darrington Jr. Her Mother - In-law, (Rev. Edna Darrington). Her Family who preceded her in death are as follows: (Mother) Minnie Lee Ogans, (Father) Clifford Levelle Jones, (Father) Cornell Ogans, Father - In Law Billy Darrington. Her Brothers, Wharton Brown Jr. (Janet). (Doniel Ogans (Marsha). Her living siblings are as follows:
