On Sunday, March 14, 2021, Donald T. Lumb II, loving husband and father passed away at age 50.
Don was born on February 11, 1971 in Michigan to Theresa Richardson and Donald Lumb Sr. As a teenager, Don became a sheriff explorer and after high school he enlisted in the Army where joined the Military Police Corp. When he came home and joined the Army National Guard, he simultaneously joined the Chula Vista Police Department where he eventually became a K9 Officer. Don spent his entire adult life in law enforcement in one arena or another and he loved every minute of it. Don would always be the first to help someone that needed it.
Don only had a few passions, but those few meant the world to him. He loved long weekends at the river and holidays at the desert with family and friends. If you knew Don, you knew he had a quick wit and his sarcasm was top notch. If he cared about you, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for you. He had a goofy spirit about him that just made people laugh.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Don Sr. He is survived by his wife, Patty, his children, Madison, Mason and Chance. His brother, Tony and his mother, Theresa. There are several Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at East County Mortuary Chapel located at 374 N. Magnolia Ave. El Cajon, Ca, 92020 from 3pm to 7pm. An Army color guard will be presenting honors at 7pm.
In leu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project in Dons honor. Helping his brothers in arms was a cause he held dear.
