Life Story for Dolores Winchell

Dolores Arden Price Winchell, age 91, of El Cajon, California passed away Monday, December 23rd, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Dolores was born April 10th, 1928 in San Diego to Lloyd and Eileen (Close) Price and was a resident throughout her life. She was a mother, housewife, and worked outside the home in retail and as a waitress.

Dolores was an avid reader and enjoyed reading books and the daily newspaper. She loved Jeopardy and was thrilled when she was able to answer questions that the contestants could not. She had an incredible memory for facts. She enjoyed watching or attending major sporting events and followed the leaders. Dolores cherished her antiques, loved looking for finds at garage sales, roses and gardening. She enjoyed going to the movies especially if Brad Pitt was the star. She loved family picnics, time at the beach, holidays, spending time at the cabin, great food and a good glass of wine or bottle of beer.

Grateful for sharing her life are her sister Barbara (Ronnie) Greene of Pacific Beach, CA; daughter Linda (Billy) Holderer Stokes of El Cajon, CA; son Raymond (Siri) Holderer of El Cajon, CA; grandchildren Laura (Rick) Brothers Kindsfater of Scottsdale, AZ; David (Elizabeth) Brothers of El Cajon, CA; Jessi Rae (Mike) Holderer of Clearwater, FL; Lacey (Dean) Holderer Allen of Lakeside, CA; Jennifer (Larry) Holderer Ellis of Lake Tahoe, CA; Randy (Aida) Stokes of Phillipsburg, NJ; Joleen (Josh) Stokes of El Cajon, CA; Joshua (Jazmin) Stokes of Youngstown, OH; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her son Michael (Jann) Holderer, daughter Julie (David) Holderer Pealer, grandsons Justin Holderer and Richard Chavez.
Dolores will always be remembered for her great since of humor and love of life and family.

Graveside service will be held at El Cajon Cemetery located at 2080 Dehesa Road, El Cajon, CA 92019 on January 22nd, 2020 at 11:30 a.m.. Gathering to celebrate Dolores’ life will be held immediately after service at the Stokes’ residence.
