Obituary for Antonina Aiello

Our loving mother went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2023. Born in
Aspara, Sicily to Pasquale and Giovanna Sardina, our mother moved to Buffalo,
New York with her family in 1955. On April 11, 1959, she
returned to Sicily to marry the love of her life, Giuseppe Aiello, and
together they raised six children. Their first four children were born in
Buffalo. In 1968, they moved to San Diego and the last two of their
children were born. Our mother worked as a seamstress for part of her
life but what she truly loved was being a homemaker and a “Nonna”.
She provided daycare to many children and created a special bond with
each one of those children. Those children referred to her as “Nonna”,
a name that she absolutely loved. Our mother was a member of Our
Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and was devoted to the Madonna
Addolorata. She served as Vice President for the Madonna Addolorata
Society for many years. She was also a member of the Madonna de
Lume Society. She is survived by her loving husband of (almost) 64

years, Giuseppe Aiello, and their children Paul (Peggy) Aiello, Mike
DeShazo (Phillip), Pat (Maria) Aiello, Donna (Barry) Bacarti, Joe (Denise)
Aiello and Salvatore (Priscilla) Aiello and her grandchildren: Meagan,
Lindsay, Chelsea, Giuseppe, Graziella, Johnny, Nina, Joseph, Arianna,
Anthony, Lucas, Giovanni, Francesco, and Giulianna as well as one
Great-grandchild, Leo. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Pasquale
and Giovanna Sardina and her son, John Anthony Aiello. Viewing and
Rosary on Monday, April 17 th at 5:30 in the evening, East County
Mortuary, 374 N. Magnolia Avenue, El Cajon, CA. Funeral Mass at 9:30
in the morning on Tuesday, April 18 th , Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic
Church, 1668 State Street, San Diego, CA with entombment to follow.
