Anthony Grant Wilson February 09, 1970 - May 03, 2023
t is with deep sorrow and great love that we announce the passing of Anthony ‘Tony’ Grant Wilson, called home to the Lord to be reunited with his father, Salvador Wilson and sister, Lisa Garcia-Wilson. Tony passed on May 3rd, 2023 at the age of 53 years-old, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Sandra Renfro-Wilson, of Manchester NH, two children Julian Renfro (16) and Aubrey Wilson (10), mother, Patricia Wilson, nieces Erica and Sarah Garcia, brother in law, Billy Garcia and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tony was born in El Centro, California to Salvador and Patricia Wilson. In 1978, his family moved to El Cajon, California where he attended school at Madison Elementary, Montgomery Middle school and graduated from Granite High School in 1988. He had a passion for sports and played baseball for most of his school years.

Following high school he received his commercial driver’s license, and was employed by Grossmont Union High school District as a bus driver. He later attended Electrical Training Institute of San Diego and became an Apprentice Electrician working for several local commercial electrical service companies.

In 2011, he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix. Later that year, he began his career with the US government working for DHS/ICE until he retired in 2022.

Tony was a devout Christian and member of Foothills Christian Church in El Cajon. He was also a dedicated Chargers and Padres fan. If he was not reading the bible or participating in church activities, he was watching sports.

He loved spending time in the kitchen, constantly trying new recipes and cooking delicious meals for his family. If someone he knew was experiencing loss or hardship, Tony was there to help ease their burdens with food.

More than anything, he adored his family. His family was always his top priority. Spending time with his children was his greatest joy.

Tony inherited his Dad’s sense of humor and his Mom’s generosity, traits that carried him through many of life’s challenges. He will be remembered as a thoughtful and kind soul, whose contagious smile and laughter will be forever missed.
