Angel Mercado was born April 11, 1980 in Bakersfield California to his mother Patricia Gutierrez & father Rosario Mercado; Angel later moved to San Diego CA at the age of 13. He had three siblings, a sister Yolanda, and two brothers Rosario & Albert. He was also blessed with 5 nephews and 4 nieces, his love for them is endless. Angel was a person full of light and warmth, he never hesitated to pass it along even to strangers, kindness was his greatest gift. His wife, Jacqueline Elizalde Mercado was his rock, they were together since early 2009 and tied the knot on June 25th 2016. He was very involved with the low rider community, all his life he worked on cars since the age of 8, it was his true passion; For the last 6 years of his life he worked as a pizza delivery driver he really enjoyed bringing smiles and positivity to customers, even made friends along the way. Angel contracted Covid-19 and tragically passed away in ICU on January 19th 2021 his loving wife was able to be by his side and held his hand as he left this world; he was 40 years of age. There was a complication that developed due to the fact that Angel already had a severe lung condition for most of his life that made him vulnerable to the virus. We were not ready to lose him, he will be missed every single day by all of his friends and family. He truly was an angel from heaven, may his beautiful soul Rest In Peace.
